‘Lost at Foxglove’
Album Release
Bittersweet songs of nostalgia sidle up alongside rowdy backwater anthems on Lookout Tower's latest collection Lost at Foxglove. The Cape Breton group's fourth long-player is rich with lovers looking back or out to sea, honky-tonk wisdom, the ghosts of the past, mythic boozers, and would-be legends of the ring. Playing out over folk and roots styles that nod to the beloved trad of Lookout Tower's maritime home, the high-powered blues rock and soul of days gone by, Lost at Foxglove carries with it the elements of a rollicking hoedown: lovesick weepers for the waltzers and barnburners to get the ya-yas out. But whether the tempo is up or down, one thought flits in and out of the dancefloor like a spectre—glory fades.
Lookout Tower has played Cavendish Beach Festival, Full Circle Festival, Blueberry Jam Festival and organizes the yearly sold-out Middle River Stomp. Their songs have been featured on CBC, radio sations across North America and Gems OnVHS.
